INSTRUCTIONS FOR REPLACEMENT OF CABLE LOCKING PINS (CLP) FOR OL'MAN CLIMBING TREESTANDS

TSR, Inc. and Ol’Man Treestands strive to produce the safest possible treestands for our valued customers. This is why we have redesigned the cable pins and are requesting that you replace the cable pins on 2006 models. All pins that do not have a threaded end and an attached wing nut with flange should be replaced.

Figure 1.               Figure 2.

  1. Locate the existing cable locking pins on your Ol’ Man treestand.  Each stand will have 3 or 4 pins, attached to the stand by a lanyard.   Using wire cutters, cut the triangle attaching the old cable locking pins to their lanyards.  (Figure 1)
  1. Dispose of the old pins and spring wire loops.  They should not be used for any other purpose.
  1. Take the new cable locking pins (Figure 2) and unscrew the tethered wing nut.

Figure 3.               Figure 4.
  1. Pull the spring retention wire loop over the threaded tip to open up the main body of the new cable locking pin.  Put the threaded tip through the end of the lanyard. (Figure 3.)

  1. Pull the spring retention wire loop end back over the threaded tip of the pin (CLP).  (Figure 4)

Figure 5. Figure 6.

Figure 5.               Figure 6.

  1. Take the flanged wing nut and screw it onto the threaded tip of the pin to the bottom of the threads where it will screw no further. (Figures 5 and 6)

Each time you remove the cable locking  pins or adjust the cable on the swing arms of your Ol’ Man Treestand, you must repeat steps 3, 4, 5, and 6. If you do not do this, you are improperly using the treestand.
